The Rio Grande Valley Empowerment Zone Corporation "Victims of Crime / Prevention & Restoration Program" was established in 2013 to assist victims of violent crimes in the Rio Grande Valley Region. This is a Southwest Regional program assisting in Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy, Starr, Zapata, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Duval, Brooks, Kenedy and Kleberg. The goal of the RGVEZC-VOC / PR Program is to decrease re-victimization in an effort to achieve victim restoration.

Project SEE - Saving lives through Education and Empowerment
The primary goal of this project is to develop and strengthen more effective law enforcement, prosecution and court strategies to combat violent crimes against persons in 11 South Texas Counties: Zapata, Starr, Jim Hogg, Hidalgo, Willacy, Cameron, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, and Kleberg, via the following objectives:
Objective 1: Training/Education-To establish and maintain training programs for victim services or criminal justice professionals and non-professionals.
Objective 2: Multi-Disciplinary Teams and Case Coordination Teams-Representatives of several agencies meet regularly to discuss common cases and share information to enhance investigation, prosecution, and victim restoration.
